Add a little color to your life this winter with a treasure hunt through some of Wisconsin’s most interesting galleries. The snowy landscape and the leafless trees can feel a bit drab by mid-winter. A trip to see some colorful, handcrafted works of art will warm up your spirits and give you inspiration.
La Bella Vita Gallery in Middleton offers a spectacular variety of fine art, jewelry, sculpture and wall hangings. The colors, shapes and textures are enough to liven up the coldest winter day. Occasionally, the gallery holds special gallery nights, trunk shows and other events, but anytime is a great time to visit this treasure trove.
One of Wisconsin’s most unique galleries is the Oshkosh. Located in the historic neighborhood of Downtown Oshkosh, this small gallery specializes in custom stained glass. On the walls you’ll see the works of more than 50 different artists working in a variety of media. It’s a great mix of artwork.
Moondeer and Friends Gallery in Boulder Junction really stands out. Handmade objects of every shape and size, from utilitarian objects to eccentric sculptures, adorn this fascinating gallery. In total, more than 150 regional artists are represented. No trip to the Northwoods would be complete without a stop at this one-of-a-kind gallery.
